Seenit! - Episode Tracker · Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Seenit! - Episode Tracker browser extension handles your information. Seenit! is designed to be private by default: your data stays on your device and, optionally, in your own Google Drive. There are no servers that collect or store your personal data.

1. Data Stored

Seenit! stores the data needed to track your shows, including the series you add, your episode and season watch progress, favorites, and your app settings (such as theme).

  • Local storage: By default, all of this data is stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. It never leaves your device unless Cloud Sync is enabled.
  • Optional Google Drive sync: If you choose to connect Google Drive, your tracking data is saved to the private, hidden application data folder of your own Google Drive account so it can sync across your devices.

2. Google User Data & OAuth Scopes

When you enable Cloud Sync, Seenit! requests a single, minimal Google OAuth scope:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata -access to a dedicated, hidden application-data folder in your Google Drive.

This scope cannot access, read, or modify any of your other Google Drive files, photos, or documents. It is limited exclusively to the hidden folder that Seenit! creates for its own sync data. No other scope is requested.

Seenit!'s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How Your Data Is Used

  • To display and track the TV shows and episodes you are watching.
  • To sync your tracking data across your own devices (only if Cloud Sync is enabled).
  • To save your preferences and settings.

Your data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the core functionality of the extension.

4. Data Sharing

Your data is never sold, rented, traded, or transferred to any third party. Seenit! has no backend servers of its own. The only external services involved are:

  • Google Drive API -only when you opt in to Cloud Sync, and only to store data in your own Drive's hidden app folder.
  • TheTVDB API -to fetch publicly available series and episode metadata (e.g. show titles, ratings, genres, air dates). No personal data is sent to this service.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Local data: Removed when you delete the data within the extension, clear your browser data, or uninstall Seenit!.
  • Google Drive data: You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from the extension's Settings, which revokes access. You may also delete the stored app data directly from your Google Drive account.

6. Security

Your data is stored within your browser and your own Google Drive account, protected by your Google account's security. Communication with Google APIs uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

7. Children's Privacy

Seenit! is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
